Abstract

This study analyzed the effect of 6th grade elementary school students on convergent problem-solving abilities and software-related career orientation after developing a project-type SW convergence education program. A total of 23 studies were conducted from June to July 2022 on 27 students in the experimental group and 27 control groups in the 6 th grade of M elementary school in H city. The results of this study are as folllows: First, the project-type SW convergence education program was found to have a positive effect on the convergent problem-solving ability of sixth-grade elementary school students and software-related career orientation. Second, in the software-related career orientation, the experimental group's software-related career value recognition area was significantly improved compared to the control group. Third, in the response to the questionnaire on software-related career orientation, 21 out of 27 students in the experimental group were satisfied with software convergence education, and most of the respondents said they would be the center of the job for software-related career. Through this, the project-type SW convergence education program gives students satisfaction with software and is judged to have become an opportunity to think about future career paths. The project-type SW convergence education program is a beneficial educational method that improves students' convergent problem-solving ability and software-related career orientation. However, since this study was applied to a small number of sample students, it is difficult to generalize. In the next follow-up study, a convergence education program should be applied to more sample students, and various variables should be considered.
