AbstractThis qualitative study aimed to find out how secondary special education teachers perceived a discussion-oriented convergence education program in special classes of middle and high school after implementation of the program. A total of five teachers implemented the discussion-oriented convergence education program developed by the researcher from June to August in 2020. For data collection, semi-structured interviews were conducted twice individually. The findings showed that teachers found the education program beneficial for students with disabilities even though they had difficulty in implementing the discussion-oriented program. In addition, it was found that the discussion-oriented convergence education program made it possible for teachers to organize and conduct student-centered lessons with students with disabilities. The results implied the possibility to implement a discussion-oriented lesson with students with disabilities. |
