AbstractThis study developed a convergence education program to develop global citizenship capabilities and applied it to 29 sixth-grade students at H Elementary School in Gyeonggi-do to confirm its effectiveness. The researcher viewed global citizenship capabilities as including problem-solving ability as a global citizen, intercultural sensitivity, and practical ability as a global citizen, and derived research results over a total of three implementations. The convergence education program implemented in this study was designed to understand interdependent relationships through global exchange under the theme of 'connected world' in the first implementation, and to understand global problems under the theme of 'an unstable world' in the second implementation. The third implementation was developed with the goal of establishing action plans for a sustainable future based on a sense of belonging and solidarity as global citizens under the theme of 'Our World'. A convergence education program was implemented through 15 classes, and the learning topics and activities needed for learners were designed through quantitative analysis of pre- and post-test questionnaires with the same questions. As a result of qualitative analysis based on participant observation and activity impressions, it was deemed necessary to change the individual investigation activities conducted in the first implementation to group investigation activities in the second implementation. In the third implementation, after identifying the need for activities for organic connection of learning, it was considered that activities related to the topic investigated in the second implementation should be included. After applying this program, it was confirmed that there was an improvement point in 5 out of 9 questions on the pre- and post-test questionnaire through SPSS matched sample t-test. As a result of qualitative analysis based on participant observation and activity reports, it was confirmed that it had a positive impact on improving learners' problem-solving skills, intercultural sensitivity, and practical skills as global citizens.
